Summary

David possesses over 40 years of continuous experience in providing advice on contractual issues and valuation. He offers specialist advice to clients on commercial strategy, contract management, contractual claims, dispute resolution, drawing on significant experience gained from international arbitration. He has also provided clients with contractual risk assessments and audits of forecast revenue.

David has been extensively involved with a broad range of the commercial functions for clients and contractors in relation to some of the world’s largest projects. He has led large claims management teams, successfully blending and managing different technical disciplines to deliver effective client solutions. He has participated in the training and mentoring of in- house staff and clients’ staff.

He continues to be involved in projects across a broad range of sectors, including oil and gas, mining, and major infrastructure projects. He has extensive experience on contentious matters.

David has provided expert evidence in a variety of countries. These expert appointments concern a variety of sectors including mining, commercial developments, quarrying, gantry cranes, residential developments, dredging and reclamation, and embassies and palaces.

His quantum claims experience includes that relating to additional payment of variations, re-measurement, damages, disruption, prolongation, and increased costs. Particular areas of expertise include issues such as re-rating of billed items, valuation of disruption, preliminaries thickening, and prolongation costs including head office overheads, site overheads, and plant depreciation.
