Delay Analysis

Delay analysis is among the most frequently debated disciplines provided by Expert Witnesses. There are a myriad of techniques, and a wide range of software, that can be used as tools to calculate the ‘answer’.

Diales’ people are delay experts and not theorists. All have a minimum of 15 years’ practical industry experience before becoming involved in forensic analysis. This assures that our work is based on solid practical knowledge, avoiding the risk of a valuable report collapsing when the basis is tested during cross examination, and found to be impractical.

Our delay team are instructed on high profile international disputes on projects and are happy to engage in early discussions as to the most appropriate method of analysis to suit your needs.

Approaches may include, but not be limited to:

  • Time impact analysis
  • As planned vs. As built
  • Collapsed as-built

With over 40 identified methods of analysis, in combination methodologies such as the Windows technique, Diales’ mission is to demystify the process.  Our experts find ways of presenting these complex arguments in a manner that is simple to understand and robust enough to withstand challenge.

Getting the right delay expert is an essential appointment. Wherever you are in the world, no matter what the sector or size of the dispute, we have the expertise.

Diales can also deliver in-house training programmes for solicitors and barristers enabling the exploration strengths and weaknesses of various available methods.

If you have a delay aspect to your dispute, or wish to discuss training and methodologies, please contact the team on
