Summary
Darren has more than 10 years’ experience in claims and contract management, on some of the world’s largest and most cutting-edge power projects, including coal, oil and gas, hydro and geothermal plants. The majority of Darren’s experience has been onsite in the Middle East and in Asia Pacific, and as such, he is highly familiar with onsite construction practices and the importance of utilising the related documentation for quantum claim substantiation.
Darren is experienced in a variety of claims, including but not limited to, prolongation, disruption, termination, change orders, re-measurement, force majeure and change in law events. Claims vary in value up to more than 1 billion USD.
Darren has played a leading role in project litigation, including arbitration proceedings in Asia and Europe. Recently, Darren testified as the quantum expert witness on a geothermal arbitration in Turkey. Darren is comfortable presenting his reports to a tribunal and remains professional and impartial when addressing opposing views and cross examination.
Due to Darren’s lengthy experience working with major Korean contractors, and more than 20 years spent in Asia, Darren is a competent cross-cultural communicator with bilingual (English/Korean) language ability.
