Mustafa is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. His expertise includes preparing and valuing variations, claims for prolongation, disruption and acceleration, disputed accounts and increased costs.
With a background in civil engineering, Mustafa began his career as a site engineer. Before joining Diales in 2016, he has worked on several international projects across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, performing a full range of quantity surveying, contract, and commercial management functions across various sectors, including oil and gas, energy, process and industrial, building, and infrastructure.
Mustafa has significant experience in dispute resolution, including claims preparation and defence, negotiation and amicable settlement, and formal proceedings such as mediation, conciliation, expert determination, arbitration, and litigation.
Mustafa worked as the quantum lead in third-party expert determinations of various disputes. Notable cases include a significant infrastructure project in KSA and a large computer chip manufacturing facility in the Middle East.
Mustafa was recently appointed by the Respondent to act as its Quantum Expert in an ICC arbitration concerning a dispute related to a major project in Qatar.
